This is on us

I'm running for re-election because, as we head into the most important election of our lifetime, we need a nationally recognized leader and champion fighting for bold progressive change.

As long as I'm in Congress, I'll never stop pushing for progressive reforms. And it's why I'm asking for your support before September's end-of-quarter fundraising deadline.

We have a lot of work to do. And it's on us.

At a time when Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress are doing everything they can to hurt our country and planet, who we send to Congress must be defined by leadership.

My record is deeply progressive. My goals are clear:

  • I am a fierce advocate for democratic values and progressive action, I have become one of Donald Trump's most fearless critics, and was one of the first members of Congress to call for impeachment proceedings.

  • I have led the effort for bold action to combat climate change and create more clean energy: I co-wrote the Green New Deal, which set the agenda for America to radically reduce carbon emissions and jumpstart the green economy and I crafted legislation declaring climate change a national emergency and was joined by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders.

  • I believe that health care is a human right. In my role as a member of the powerful Ways & Means Committee, I have been fighting for much-needed policies such as a single payer healthcare system like Medicare for All.

  • I am fighting for a new approach to immigration reform which includes reuniting the families who have been separated at the border and abolishing ICE in its present form and starting over with a responsible, humane agency to deal with border control. I believe we should be prioritizing the protection of families and our borders in a humane and thoughtful way and that people should be treated with compassion and respect.

  • I am a leader in the fight to decriminalize cannabis and to reinvest in the communities that have been harmed by the failed war on drugs.

  • I work both locally and nationally to raise up traditionally-marginalized communities, to ensure access to quality health care, a living wage, fairer tax policies that truly tackle income inequality, and an affordable education for everyone – not just the privileged few.

  • I am advocating for the gun violence epidemic to be treated as the public health crisis that it is, and I authored a comprehensive plan to tackle this crisis.

  • I am a champion for affordable housing. To address this issue head-on, I wrote a comprehensive report on the housing crisis to highlight the history of federal housing discrimination and underinvestment, offer solutions to solve the housing crisis, and to provide concrete steps the federal government can take to invest in our future.

  • I financially support and mentor progressive candidates in local, state, and national races. During the midterm elections, I supported over 90 candidates and over half of them won their races in very challenging districts.

  • I am leading the charge to rebuild what's broken in our democracy, including expanding voter protections and fighting for provisions such as national vote-by-mail, automatic voter registration, and postage-free ballots.

If we share these priorities, stand with me and support my campaign.

As I said, it's up to us, and every progressive hero across America, to keep fighting and to win in 2020.

Donate today. Chip in before September's end-of-quarter deadline. Stand with me as we push on to a better future.

Courage,

Earl
