I'm proud of what we're fighting for
In addition to leading the fight in Congress to resist Trump and his hateful and divisive agenda, I have been fighting for a strong, progressive vision for America.
If Democrats are going to take back control of Congress and the White House in 2020, we must stand up and be clear about what we are fighting for, including –
- Making housing more accessible and more affordable for all people.
- Passing a Green New Deal.
- Putting a price on carbon.
- Enacting universal health care.
- Ending gun violence.
- Enacting comprehensive and humane immigration reform.
- Lowering prescription drug costs.
- Defending reproductive rights.
- Protecting public lands.
- Enacting real campaign finance reform.
- Implementing a national Paid Family and Medical Leave program.
- Enacting comprehensive immigration reform.
- Attacking income inequality.
- Preserving net neutrality.
- Ending the failed war on drugs.
- Reducing the world's nuclear weapons.
- Reforming our food and farm policies.
- Promoting animal welfare.
That's a lot of ideas – all held together by two fundamental principles: how we live and how we treat each other.
And you know what? I'm proud to fight for every single one. Together, they make up a vision of a safer, more equitable, healthier, and more economically secure nation.
