Two big wins this week:

As Chair of the Ways and Means Trade Subcommittee, I vowed to make 2019 the year Congress stood up to Big Pharma to lower drug costs and ensure everyone has access to quality, affordable prescription drugs.

And this week, I'm happy to report that we won two big battles:

First, we beat the drug lobby as we hammered out the new United States Mexico Canada Trade Pact. I was able to strip out protections for the big drug companies and shut down the sweetheart deal Trump tried to hand Big Pharma. In fact, we were able to change our trade policy so radically that this was the first trade agreement endorsed by the AFL-CIO in nearly 20 years!

In addition, the House passed legislation to allow Medicare to negotiate directly with pharmaceutical companies to combat skyrocketing drug costs, and ensure fairer pricing for patients.

This is the first defeat Big Pharma has taken in decades, and they're not taking it well. I stood up to them and won and now I have a target on my back. They've got huge piles of cash to spend and you can bet they'd love to get me out of Congress.

And us? We've got grassroots supporters like you in our corner – real people who're plenty willing to take the fight to the special interests that rig the system in their favor.

That's the way we've always done it, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Chip in now to join me in fighting back against big drug companies and lowering health care costs for families across Oregon's third district – and across America!

Courage,

Earl
