For Central Illinois, that's Betsy Dirksen Londrigan, a non-profit leader and community advocate born and raised in Springfield, Illinois.
Betsy is our first Flip It Friday candidate because she's in one of the most competitive congressional races in the country, as she faces Rodney Davis, who won by less than one percent of the vote in 2018. In 2020, she's come out better and stronger. And she's ready to lead Illinois – and the country.

For Betsy, running for Congress is very personal.
In 2009, her then 12-year-old son, Jack, fought a life-threatening illness that started from a tick bite that left him in a medically induced coma and hospitalized for 24 days. Betsy knows first-hand the medical expertise that saved her son's life. The insurance that saved them from mountains of debt.
Betsy's current representative has voted in support of gutting coverage for people with pre-existing conditions, charging older Americans five times more for coverage than young people, and raising premiums for working families, all while giving massive tax cuts for the wealthiest few.
There's a lot at stake with this country. Access to quality, affordable health care. An economy that prioritizes the middle class, not their corporate overlords. Addressing houselessness. And putting Americans back to work, especially in times of COVID.
