America is finally rejoining the world in fighting climate change.

What a relief. After four years of Trump's environmental wrecking crew, we have a president who understands the urgency of our climate crisis and is taking steps to save our planet.

Prioritizing environmental justice. Fighting for clean air and water. Holding polluters accountable. Putting science first.

Today, Joe Biden affirmed all of those principles by ending big polluters' reckless drilling free-for-all on our public lands, committing to bold green-energy goals, and taking steps to create thousands of new jobs in the environmental sector. Just one week into his term, the president has sent a clear message to the world that America is finally rejoining the world in fighting climate change.

But our work doesn't stop there. Congress must also mobilize all available resources to tackle this crisis now.

That's why I will soon reintroduce legislation to declare a national climate emergency.

It will take all of us working together to halt, reverse, mitigate, and prepare for the consequences of the climate emergency. And we can't wait.

Onward,

Earl
